Punch is a staple for a Bridal or Baby Shower and I have tasted some that are so yummy. I only have two that I use on a consistent basis and the first one is a true Southern tradition as you use Cheerwine, a soft drink made in North Carolina, in the punch. It is very easy to make and I have used the sugar free Cheerwine in this recipe before and couldn’t tell the difference. This punch has a red color.
Mix together 3 2-liter bottles of Cheerwine Soft Drink with
2 46-ounce cans of unsweetened pineapple juice
Chill. makes 37 cups of punch.
Obviously this is a green punch and the recipe is so old that it calls for cool-ade instead of kool aid as we know it now. It is tasty and easy to make.
2 small size envelopes of lime kool aid
1 quart of ginger ale
1 46-ounce can pineapple juice
2 c sugar
2 quarts water
Dissolve sugar in water. Cool. Mix lime kool aid, pineapple juice, sugar, water and ginger ale. Pour over ice. Serves 50
Both of the recipes can be chilled ahead of time and transported to a special event, if desired.
