As I was browsing through my cookbooks last night, I saw this recipe and it really appealed to me. This year at Christmas I am trying to work smarter, not harder. I am trying to use easier recipes so I will not become so stressed. I love the title of this recipe and I think it fits right in with our Southern tradition of quilting. Most churches in our area have a group of ladies that work on quilts and supply different needs in the community and all over the world. I could imagine the quilting ladies sharing this recipe as they quilted. It would also be a great cake to make so you would have time left to quilt. This recipe is from the Oakdale Club – Our Best from Statesville, NC. This isn’t a country club but a group of women that served the local school and community through their homemaking activities. Hope you enjoy this!
