Two Dessert Recipes For Your July 4th Celebration

Celebrating July 4th is done in so many different ways across our great country.  I think the celebrations are as diverse as the heritage of the people that make up our United States. For Mr. D and I, we will have a very quiet celebration.  We have been involved in many different activities over the last couple of months that have kept us busy.  So for us it will be fun to enjoy a quiet carefree day. Of course, our celebration will include special food as that is always a very important part of any holiday.

I wanted to share a couple of recipes that would be great for a Fourth Of July Celebration.  They are from my Pillsbury Annual Recipes Cookbook of 2009 and I love them because they include fresh berries.  I know preparing the recipes will take about 45 minutes to an hour but they don’t seem complicated.

Here is the first recipe that includes some of my favorite dessert ingredients:  cream cheese, lemon and berries

The next recipe is similar and incorporates the colors of red, white and blue.

I hope you enjoy your July 4th Celebration and thanks for stopping by.

  1. Happy 4th! These both look yummy. Do you prefer one over the other?

    • Oops Seasweetie! I wasn’t trying to mislead anyone. I found the recipes in one of my cookbooks and thought they would be good options for 4th of July. I haven’t personally prepared either one of them. As they both have cream cheese in them, I would be happy with either one of them. Happy July 4th to you too.
