When I was growing up in the South, we never had mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving. We always had dressing and you poured the gravy over the dressing. Mr. D always had mashed potatoes for his gravy. He has taught me the importance of having mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving.
I have used buttermilk in my mashed potatoes and it does make them very light and fluffy. This recipe looks like a keeper to me.
